If you don’t know me in person or haven’t noticed on my website yet, I freakin love space so it has been really fun reviewing, researching, & putting together a list of the best space Legos that anyone can build within a short few hours.
Regardless of all our differences, I think it’s safe to say we all have a love/hate relationship with Legos. Not just because of the nostalgia of building Legos as kids, but simply because they are so freaking fun to build. A great combo of fun + nerd decor + DIY + collectible experience for all.
But it’s all fun and games until you step on one.
If you’re looking for something to do with your significant other or want to go back to simpler times, just make sure that once you start it, you either finish it or put all the pieces away until your next building session.
So here it is, a list of the coolest space Lego sets for beginners. I excluded all Star Wars Legos since I want to do another post just for these. These beginner space Lego sets will be just challenging enough to provide a few hours of fun even if you haven’t used Legos post-Y2K.
Space Rover Explorer
Definitely for younger audiences but still cool (and includes alien 👽), affordable yet still a good amount of pieces in the set.
Mars Research Shuttle
Less kid-oriented but also less pieces than the first one. Who doesn’t like shuttles and rovers? One of the easiest ones to assemble!
International Space Station
HUGE fan of anything ISS-related. If you remember the intro to the Halo 3 Starry Night Trailer, that kid is literally me always trying to catch the International Space Station in the night sky. It’s incredible to see it move so fast across the sky WITH SIX PEOPLE IN IT. ORBITING THE EARTH EVERY 90 DAYS. Woooaaah 🛰️!
NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander
Even though this Apollo 11 is almost $100, this is one of my favorite ones. I had no idea you could also find light add-ons for some of these space Lego sets. Can you imagine how cool these would look in your room at night? Bruh.
Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control
LEGO® NASA Apollo Saturn V
This Apollo Saturn V rocket stands over 3 ft. tall and is just so pretty to look at. Although it will take time to put together the 2,000 pieces, it’s still among the easy Lego sets you can build. Very well designed too!
Rocket Assembly & Transport
Honorable Mention: Landspeeder™ Charm
I said I wasn’t going to cover Star Wars lego sets but I couldn’t resist showing you this Landspeeder™ Bag Charm. Mostly because it’s so tiny and you can take it with you on your way to Tattooine. It’s $5 and comes pre-assembled so you don’t have to worry about it falling apart during your side quests.

Have you built any lego sets recently? How was it? How did it make you feel? Were you all tingly inside? Remember:
As Qui-Gon Jinn teaches Obi Wan Kenobi (and us by extension), “Be mindful of your thoughts”. Be conscious of the future, but not at the expense of the present.
Next time you step on a lego, remember Qui-Gon Jinn’s words and hopefully you quickly learn to put your legos away from then on 😂
